Known as “The Watch City”, Waltham was long known as one of the largest manufacturers of watches for several years. Modern day Waltham is known for its higher education institutions, Bentley University and Brandeis University, and a thriving arts community.  Specific points of interest conributing to the city’s arts community include the Waltham Symphony Orchestra, the Rose Art Museum, and Charles River Museum of Industry.
